An Incredible Response

Following Jonah escaping death in the whale, he obeys in preaching to those in Nineveh warning them of the judgment to come. Their response allows Nineveh to experience a revival in a way that we all would love to see take place in today's day. 

Obedience is the Very Best Way

We can learn much from Jonah as he obeyed the Lord. In the midst of intensely wicked people, Jonah obeyed the Lord. May we learn that Obedience is the best way.

A Second Chance

After all that Jonah had done running from the Lord, He spoke to Jonah a second time. This is a great encouragement that we serve a second chance God.

A Gospel Picture

A Deep Sea Surrender

In the belly of the whale, we find a prayer that reveals the heart of Jonah. In rebellion, Jonah thought he'd find freedom only to find bondage. In our frailty, we often respond the same. Will we surrender to God's will?

Houston, We Have a Problem!

As the storm was raging, the sailors tried to work their way to shore, and when they found they could not make it, Jonah is thrown overboard. In it all, we can see the greatness of God on display.

Great Mercy in a Great Storm

Jonah finds almost immediately after he starts to run that the Lord sent a storm to guide him back into fellowship. When we get away from the Lord, we will find a God of great mercy every time.

A Rebel on the Run

We are introduced to Jonah as the Lord calls him to Ninevah. Like many of us, Jonah finds that his rebellion took him farther than he wanted to go and cost him more than he wanted to pay.  

Prioritize Pure Living

Keeping ourselves pure from the world should be the goal for each believer. May we prioritize the right things, so we can live out our lives pleasing our Lord. 

The Need for Discernment

Today there is a great need for discernment amongst believers. We know that we have a God that answers prayer, and we are called to pray for our brethren. In this passage, we are encourage to exercise that discernment in whom we pray for amongst the brethren.
